Is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 the best smartphone for Microsoft users?

As part of the launch of the Galaxy Note, Samsung and Microsoft have announced an expansion of their already existing partnership. The integration of the Microsoft services at the touch 10 goes as far as any other smartphone, certain functions are even exclusive.

The obvious question is: are the Galaxy Note 10 and the Galaxy Note 10+ the best smartphones for users traveling in the Microsoft ecosystem?

The short answer to this question is yes.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10

But you can not do it that easy, and not only because the Galaxy Note 10 costs a lot of money. You have to take a close look at what the Grade 10 really has to offer in terms of exclusive features, whether you really need them, and whether this exclusivity is permanent.

Let's get started. The following features have the grade 10 for the moment:

  • The connection and "remote control" via the app "your smartphone" works as well as with any other current smartphone .
  • There is an exclusive "Office Mobile" app for the Galaxy Note 10.
  • The connection to Windows 10 is via an icon in the touch-bar of the Note 10.
  • The ability to make calls from your PC via your smartphone will first be available on Note 10.
  • The new DeX Windows app works only with the grade 10.
  • OneDrive photo sync will be integrated into the Samsung Gallery.
  • Is that how it is? There is no reliable information, with the exception of the telephony. Here we already have the confirmation that this is a fundamental function of the Windows 10 smartphone connection.

Technically, nothing speaks against the fact that Microsoft generally switches the connection of the smartphone coupling from Bluetooth to WLAN and thus all Android smartphones enjoy the better connection. Since it seems to me in the long term hardly meaningful to maintain both types of coupling, I assume that this is again unified. A disadvantage of the changed connection, however, I noticed last week, when I was on the road and got no screen connection to the grade 10, because it just was not in the same Wi-Fi as my laptop. A combination solution would be the ideal case: WLAN, if possible, otherwise relapse to Bluetooth.

I can not say whether the DeX Windows app will remain exclusively for the Note 10. If there are no technical reasons, then it depends solely on whether Samsung wants to use this property as a selling point for the Note 10 or not.

A killer argument is the S Pen. For pen fans, the Galaxy Note is the best anyway, because the only option. Microsoft has begun to build special features for the S Pen, for example, in Outlook, and you can expect that there is more to come. These features also work with older generations of the Galaxy Note.

Last but not least, you can use all other Microsoft apps that are installed on the Galaxy Note 10, with any other Android smartphone.

When the marketing disco fog has passed, then you realize: The collaboration between Galaxy Note 10 and the Microsoft Cosmos is currently unique, and of course that's a good reason to use this device. But we just see a lot of things on this device first. Anyone who has a little patience will be able to use many of them in the future on other Android smartphones.
